Knowing the world!

It's 4 in the morning and I am "not-at-all" sleepy. It's actually quite normal since I'm comparatively free these days and I have time all to myself. As expected, it feels great to be at your leisure and while away time. It is just fantastic!
Btw, the purpose of this post was not to tell you all this. The purpose is to portray the real-emotional self of this so quoted "ambitious" blogger, who is trying to figure out what's with this world? Why does it seem so shallow at times? Where is the gap?
Sometimes I feel I should re-name this blog to "the poet/the writter-dikshabajaj.blogspot.com". Anyway, I guess I should leave apart all this and actually come to the point.

So, as you all see the title- "Knowing the world", what comes to your mind? Well, I don't know! How did you expect me to? There can be no telepathy here! Anyway, what comes to my(read with a drawl) mind is - a lot of stuff. I've been living in a hostel, out of my comfortable cocoon(my home sweet home) for a long time now(it's been an year) and have got a good amount of understanding(I'd like to believe) about the world around. So there are a lot of aspects I wish to share.

First one that comes to my mind is the fact that "Everyone is good at heart." Trust me and skip the paragraph or read on if you need the logic. So you are reading, fine! Let me go on then. Everyone is good - Even the person who calls you a bitch/even the person who wishes bad about you/even the one who's "termed as" terrorist. The person who bitched about you was just frustrated and wanted to let go off her anger and you were the target. "That is it!". She doesn't consider you a bitch, she doesn't hate you, she just hasn't spent time with you/discovered you are great at heart and hence you are the target of her anger. The person who wishes bad about you. She is just passing through a trough in the curve of her life and thus is being insecure. She's being jealous, let her be. DONOT revert back with a similar attitude. DONOT freak out. It doesn't mean she's bad. She is just being immature. She lacks understanding of life, you hold on to yours. The person "termed as" terrorist. You have no clue what circumstances he had. You have no clue what made him bad. This brings me to my second point: Stop judging!

"Stop judging" people when you don't know(understand) them. Stop judging people, when they act weird. Stop judging people, when they don't understand you. Stop judging people by little-little incidents. These incidents are not important, don't make them important. If are making them important then you lack the vision to make a judgement, So, stop blaming others for that.

"Everybody is a unique creation of God" and has(without a doubt) got some really unique talent. So, this brings out the next point. "Stop being jealous", rather find out yours. You fail at doing that? Alright don't freak out, it's human! But learn to conquer! Not others but your thoughts! That is more important.

"Learn to stay the way you are, stop being someone else" You're made unique, you have a choice stay unique/ be a commoner. What do you want? Now come on, nobody wants to be a commoner, I know. So learn!

"Love yourself" Why? The answer is really simple. If you can not love yourself, how can somebody else? Let the busy person in your life walk away(infact leave her) as you have so many who love you with all they have, so why not think of them rather than wasting time giving importance to the extras? Dance when you want! Live "your" own special self! Shout! Speak a lot! Those who don't like don't understand you and ones who understand(the closed ones) would never dislike. Speak wrong words, wrong English at times but don't care because you know where you were incorrect and let the other one have fun out of nothing. Be stupid! Be a kid! No matter what it takes, just be yourself.

Alright, enough of lessons for now. I told you right at the top, skip the paragraphs, just read the headings but you read the entire thing, right? I so knew! :P Never mind, with my articles it happens, It's really not your fault. :D I hope you got it, I'm about sign off, so take care, stay happy because you know what You are "THE BEST" (if you believe you are :P ) Adios! See you soon! :)

‎'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly.

So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!’

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call ‘The Law of the Garbage Truck.’

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so…… ‘Love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don’t.’

CommonWealthGames - The spectacular opening Ceremony

Finally, India switched on its spotlight on 3 October, 2010, the Sunday evening, to mark the beginning of a grand event - The Commonwealth Games. The much awaited day came, packed with a mixed feeling - hopes of millions, the nation's pride put on stake and the nation's capability put to a question. The series of events preceding the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi unfolded like the scenes from a B-grade bollywood disaster - featuring the collapsed foot overbridge, flooded building basements, the dengue fear - all to question the nation's abilities to hold the event. When according to the press, any foreign visitor at the Commonwealth Games would have inevitably sat in a puddle of red betel spit, and then contracted dengue, and then died in a bridge collapse, the actual event marked a completely different scenario that shunned all such remarks and raised an all new enthusiasm in every Indian, who now acclaimed "I am a proud Indian". The event was enthralling and fulfilling for every Indian, to an extent that's beyond all measures.

Personally having watched each and every moment of it, here's a quick description of the fantabulous ceremony in my words. With the spectators having been instructed to reach the venue before 5 P.M. when the ceremony was to begin at 7, the event had a pre-ceremony where music composer Anand Raj Anand and singer Shibani Kashyap got the crowd on their feet with some of the most well-known renditions. While the spectators had to be seated much before the opening ceremony, the wait must also have been filled with much excitement. Because what lied next was the big moment. And yes the big moment came -Dot 7- The ceremony started with DD live-streaming it in India. The first view of the majestic Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium raised the hopes of every Indian. The gigantic main stage, inspired by the 'mandala', the huge helium aerostat, the brillant lightening effects all created a wonderful ambiance. The 65,000 spectators with the dignitaries like President Pratibha Patil, Prince Charles and P.M. Manmohan Singh all together for the big event. And hence the event started with a young seven year old showing his excellence with the tabla. Passion in the eyes of this little artist filled everyone with amazement. Keshav, the kid was so full of confidence and the applauds that followed were much deserved. Following which was the beautiful song of swagatam by Hari Haran. India welcoming the nations that were here for the 19th Commomwealth Games and singing the beautiful lyrics of the song with school kids performing a dance and the swagatam formation all created a wonderful ambiance. The kids under a white sheets creating a mehendi motiff as Swagatham reached an end. And the only word that defines all this is - Lovely!

The essence was made stronger with the well co-ordinated light and sound arrangements. 1,200 moving lights, 120 space cannons and 16 follow spots weighing approximately 75 tonnes was what it took to enchant the about 60,000 spectators. The 25 stacks of speakers produced 500,000 Watts of sound. But needless to say, the effect was spectacular.

Next came the round of all the nations, part of the games, coming one by one into the stadium with their flags held up and the players led by a leader. The beautiful ladies who led each country were drapped in the heavily worked and very elegant saaries, depicting the culture of India. The host nation India came in the end led by Abhinav Bindra followed by some 680 players. The whole stadium stood to honour the intruding Indian players. The stadium was full of applauds and an ovation from the Indians to welcome India -an overwhelming moment for the entire nation.

Next came, the speech by Kalmadi. What Indians had to say about that was quite clear. (For more look for my tweets. To cut the crap out of here...) Next came the speech by Prince Charles, PM M.M.S. and the final one by President Patil who's words - "Let the games begin!" marked the official opening of the 19th Commonwealth Games, hosted by INDIA! CWG and national flags were brought in while the military bands played. And hence opening of the games was marked beautifully.

Following this came some cultural performances by Indian females, putting forward the culture and danceform of each state and needless to say it was an elegant, truly beautiful and a remarkable session. Then was the yoga session where
with body, mind and soul in unison, over 800 performers gave a stunning performance of Yoga forming the shape of a sun using most difficult 'asans' (postures). The session was completely enthralling for each viewer. Next was the Bharat Darshan with Hussain dancing on the tunes of a much popular track Chaiyan chiyan, adding the bollywood tarhka to the entire show. It was again, truly entertaining. Not to forget, the fabulous tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by sand artists needs to mentioned here. The sand art was truly beautiful!

And then..... came the legend A.R.Rahman with the theme song. "Jiyo utho barho jeeto" and the entire stadium was to put to life, each and every person, be it the one in stadium or the one watching it live on DD was singing to his tunes and his magic was spread like always. The oscar winning track of "Jai Ho" instilled in Indians a passion and craze which made them dance to his tunes and filled them with utter pride. And hence the spectacular evening came to an end....!!!

And hence the nineteenth Commonwealth Games got off to an inspiring and magnificent start oat the Indian Capital with the opening ceremony, which unfolded without any glitch. The ceremony beautifully portrayed and upholded the great journey of India with all its unique features and made every Indian utterly proud!

And here I come to the end of this post but trust me for an Indian, it was overwhelming. The hopes associated with the event were all lived up to and it made every Indian proudly acclaim of how proud he is to be associated with it. What do you feel about the same? Are you also a proud Indian like me? Do share your opinion by posting your comment. Signing of at the moment. Hope to see you soon. :)

Till then, Jai Ho!

I'm straight.. are you?

Well, as Genelia D'souza- the new HT CITY columnist and the very well known "Pappu(who can't dance saala)'s heroine" brought forward her first article, her idea impressed me so much, that here I am stealing her topic and writing it down in my word space. So firstly, a pat on her back, great work lady!!! (after all impressing me is not that easy, so you deserve to be applauded). And now, a warm welcome to my thought space, here I am to share with you my thoughts on Miss D'souza's first article. Okay, you read the heading, what do you infer? Hold your thoughts, I'm NOT going to talk about any section 377. But I want to keep you all waiting for a little longer, before I actually get to the point. The bubbly, young actor Genelia comes up with her article in a really simple yet elegant language and I bet, any reader who came across her work must have enjoyed it and agreed to her thinking. And the art with which she portrayed her idea was just too good . A topic that is thought about almost by everyone each day.

Okay, I guess I need to come to the point, so that atleast my readers don't leave the post in between and do stay till the end to see what I have to say. So let me start by being absolutely straight..... forward! (Gotcha!) Yeah that is what she wrote about- Being straight forward!!! One topic that atleast I much ponder upon.
Straight forward- used or abused is the question. I've asked myself quite often. What do you think? I being a person who is absolutely straight forward, have been in a fix many a times, as to is it good or bad. If asked about my point of view, I would say there is nothing better than being straight forward. Be one and you'll know the difference. You don't have to have any guilt of not having told the other, the thing you always wanted to. You know you said the truth and atleast your mind is free of any kind of questions. You indeed feel, so relaxed. But then comes the question, did your straight-forwardness hurt the other person? This question often puts you in a fix. But then again, how often do we see people being downright rude to each other and justifying the insolence as straight-forwardness? On the other hand, there are such times, I find it extremely blunt, as in pretext of being rude, or a nice way of simply insulting the other person. The latter is pretty lame!!! Because there is nothing like a nice way of insulting someone, rather there is a rude yet wishful(in the right sense) way of insulting so as to improve someone.

Dictionary defines straight-forward as honest, frank, unambiguous. But how many of us know it's correct usage and I find most of the people abusing it rather than using it. I think, it's always better to be vocal about your feelings, because there lies the charm of being truthful and there's nothing more beautiful than a truthful person. But the only thing to be kept in mind is the situation. Holdback from being straight forward in an inappropriate situation. Discretion is critical. Decide if being forthright would help bring the best in someone or the result is making the recipient treasure your words for life. It may serve as a ray of hope in trying times but may even kick someone into dumps when they are already down and out. So take the proper decision and go for it because next lies the happiness and contentment of making someone realize a fact, of having told the truth!

Well that was about the beautiful article written by the young bollywood actor Miss D'souza that I had loved to the core. Stealing some lines and putting in some of my thoughts resulted the post. I hope you liked it. Did you? But now let us put it to test. Why don't you be straightforward in your feedback on this? Let's unearth some possibly more interesting facets and addtional honest "interpretations". Comments welcomed. Signing off. Hope to see you guys very soon. :)

Blossom like a flower, in this garden of life.

A young girl, unaccustomed to the bizarre intricacies of life had a heart full of numerous dreams. Audacious and intrepid, ready to explore any venture in life, she walked by a road, looking at the world around her. She relished looking at the new faces around her, trying to figure out what was working in their mind. Each day as she walked past the road, she came across people hurrying past the crowded roads, some with a smile while others with a resent. To her dismay, the number of begrudged faces always far exceeded the number of appeased faces. Each day she used to speculate the reasons for a person's resent. Trying her best to figure out what is the cause of their dissatisfaction. At such tender an age, she couldn't understand the complexities around her. What she was aware of, was just one fact, that she wanted to be something big in life. She wanted to be called an achiever. She wanted all her dreams to be fulfilled. She wished to see everyone blossom like a flower in this garden of life, but she wasn't aware:
If we want to blossom like a flower in this garden of life,
We must learn the art of adjusting our life with thorns.

Time passed by. Now she was a grown up girl, more experienced, more mature. Her heart still full of copious dreams, few accomplished and many lined up. Walking past the same road she now was aware that world is a big rat race. Everyone is running in a marathon with a perpetual attempt to beat the fellow sprinter, ready to add another victory to his name. Her childhood apprehensions were now answered. She now knew the reasons for people's aversion. To survive in this competitive world isn't an easy task. It is an extended endeavor to make one reach the top. This fact is conspicuous to most of the people, but still there are very few people who succeed in their pursuit. Why? And which are these exiguous groups of people? The key to success is possessed by the ones who know how to maintain a balance in their life. Who can handle, all, the situations of failure, struggle and success equally well. Without losing the smile on their face. Who are aware of the fact that the key does not lie in antipathy, it lies in hard-work, in interminable tussle. Who know, I would repeat,
If we want to blossom like a flower in this garden of life,
We must learn the art of adjusting our life with thorns.

Learning from these instances, she had always been an eager beaver, always particular about her records and behaviour. She wanted to be an I.A.S Officer. She worked diligently all the year around. The big day finally came. She appeared in the exam. But destiny didn't favour her, she didn't succeed. But she did not give up. She was determined to succeed in the endeavour of her life and come what may, she has to give wings to her dreams. Another year, she worked very hard. Prepared well throughout the year but when the exam date was near, she met with an accident. It is rightly said- Your destiny rules you. But she still didn't give up. She recovered and started preparing once again. This time even her family and friends didn't support her. But it was for her never say die attitude that her fate had to bend in front of her. She gave her exam this time and came with flying colurs. She now is a reputed Officer and everyone around her to proud of her. She still walks past the same road, but is proud to be one of those very few content people.

That's life!!!

How do you wish to go about it? With a resent or be content? The choice is yours.

Thanks for reading it through. My sole reason for writing this post was to make anyone reading this realize the importance of their life. We should understand that the mighty God has send us with huge potentials, for us, to make the most out of our lives. Rather than being discontented, we should duly try to look for our hidden potentials and use them beneficially. Try to realize the drift of each moment in your life. Give wings to your dreams. Life's a glorious gift, make it's relevance. After all you're one in a million.

With that note, it'd like to sum up, wishing you a wonderful year 2010. May you have a blessed world. See you soon. :)
